1 Basic Sentence Pattern
The 还是…吧 (háishì…ba) structure is used to make a suggestion or propose an alternative option. It expresses that the speaker thinks a different course of action would be better than the current one or than what was originally planned.
Suggestion Flow
Complete Example: 这件衣服的款式已经过时了,还是买那件吧!
(The style of this clothing is already outdated; you should buy that one instead!)
还是 (háishì)
Function: Indicates an alternative or better option.
Meaning: “It would be better to…” or “How about…”
Position: Comes before the suggested action.
Suggestion Element
Function: The actual suggestion or alternative.
Examples: 买那件 (buy that one), 明天再学习 (study tomorrow), 改天去 (go another day)
